Just in case you haven't read Coretta Scott King's 1986 letter

Yesterday in an extraordinary move.  Republican majority leader Mitch McConnell used an obscure rule to silence Senator Elizabeth Warren as she attempted to read this letter from Coretta Scott King. The subject was Jefferson Sessions, a man she believed unqualified to be a judge and who now, after decades more examples of his disdain for voting rights (among other things) many believe is unqualified to be Attorney General of the United States. Later, several of Warren's male colleagues (including Sherrod Brown and Tom Udall) successfully read the letter into the record and today, you can find it online at many, many newspaper sites. Here are several. The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, Time Magazine.  Read the letter.

And Justice for All

Not just rich white males. Senator Jeff Sessions is PEOTUS' pick for Attorney General. This is a terrible choice for pretty much anyone who isn't an American-born male ofNorthern European extraction

Don't take my word for it. Here's a link to a Washington Post article entitled "10 Things to Know About Jeff Sessions." (The article actually has a couple of good things to say about Senator Sessions, which honestly, I do not.) Also, if you'd like a refresher on what exactly the Attorney General does and why it matters who it is, here's a link to a Wikipedia article.

Here's a petition you can sign to let lawmakers know you are appalled at the prospect of this man becoming Attorney General of the United States.

Susan Sarandon is not the enemy

First of all, she didn't vote for Trump. It's disappointing that she gave her vote to a vaxxer, but California is the bluest of blue states and voting her conscience in a blue state is an act without too many consequences.

Second of all, she has been an activist for a lot longer than the people who suddenly woke up to a Trump presidency and said, "Holy shit, maybe I should spend a little less money on pizza and donate something to the ACLU." (I include myself in that category. I've donated here, signed a petition there, voted my Democratic conscience, marched against the war--several different wars--but have never been a true activist until now.)

So leave Susan Sarandon alone. She is not the enemy. Steve Brannon is the enemy. Jeff Sessions is the enemy. Pick your battles. There's true evil out there.
